Ravana Untold Story Brahmin to Rakshasa

🌺 The Untold Story of Ravana – From Brahmin to Rakshasa

🌺 रावण की अनकही कहानी – ब्राह्मण से राक्षस बनने तक

Guru Maharaj Sant Trilochan Darshan Das Ji shares a lesser-known and deep story about how Ravana’s journey transformed from a Brahmin lineage to becoming a Rakshasa.

Ravana’s mother, Keikasi, was a Rakshasi, and his father was the great sage Rishi Vishrava. Keikasi was the daughter of the powerful Rakshasa Sumali. Sumali, being a cunning and ambitious Rakshasa, desired that his lineage should gain immense power. For this, he decided that his daughter should marry a highly spiritual and powerful saint.

He guided Keikasi to approach Rishi Vishrava, who was well-known for his intense tapasya and divine qualities. With a determined mindset shaped by her father, Keikasi went to the Rishi and expressed her wish to marry him.

Initially, Rishi Vishrava refused her proposal, saying that such a union was not appropriate, as he belonged to a pure Rishi lineage while she was a Rakshasi. However, Keikasi remained firm and continued to request him with determination. Over time, seeing her persistence, the Rishi finally agreed to marry her.

From this union, Ravana was born—a child of a saintly father and a Rakshasi mother.

In his early life, Ravana followed the path of his father. He engaged in deep tapasya, devotion, and spiritual practices, walking on the path of a Rishi. However, this did not please his mother. One day, Keikasi strongly commanded Ravana to abandon the path of a sage and instead become a powerful Rakshasa.

Ravana became confused. He turned to his father for guidance. Rishi Vishrava, immersed in devotion, advised him to continue on the path of righteousness and spirituality, assuring him that the right path would reveal itself.

But Keikasi strongly opposed this. In her anger, she insisted that Ravana must obey her command. She even told him to seek clarity from his Guru—whose command should be followed: the father’s or the mother’s?

Ravana then approached his Guru with this dilemma. The Guru replied that according to the Vedas and Shastras, a mother’s command holds the highest place, and it must be obeyed above all.

From that very moment, Ravana chose to follow his mother’s wish. He left the path of a Rishi and embraced the path of a Rakshasa, eventually becoming what his mother desired him to be.

🌺 This story reminds us how influence, guidance, and choices shape one’s destiny—even for someone born with divine potential.
