Bhairon's Final Prayer: How Maa Vaishno Devi Blessed Him Even After Death- Power of chant God's name !
Once, Bhairon crossed all limits of respect and purity when he became attracted to the beauty of Maa Vaishno Devi and desired to marry Her. Seeing his arrogance and improper intentions, Maa Bhagwati became enraged and manifested Her immense Virat (cosmic) form.
In Her divine and awe-inspiring appearance, Maa declared, “Bhairon, your sins have reached their limit. Today, I shall sever your head.”
The moment Bhairon witnessed the terrifying and magnificent form of the Divine Mother, he was overwhelmed with fear. Trembling and helpless, he fell to the ground.
As Maa prepared to strike with Her Trishul, Bhairon remembered the sacred mantra taught by the great sage Markandeya:
“Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche.”
With complete surrender and desperation, Bhairon began chanting the mantra, becoming deeply absorbed in its divine vibrations and developing a profound connection with it. He chanted with such intensity and devotion that every particle of his body seemed to vibrate with the Divine Mother's name. His mind became absorbed in the mantra, and he entered a deep state of meditation.
Maa Bhagwati paused. Hanuman Ji and the divine beings watched in silence as Bhairon continued his heartfelt chanting.

When his recitation was complete, Maa spoke compassionately:
“Bhairon, your sincere chanting has invoked My grace. However, your sins are so severe that death has already been written into your destiny. Through your punishment, the world shall learn an important lesson about the consequences of wrongful actions.”
She continued,
“Your offense cannot be forgiven, yet because you have remembered and chanted My sacred name with true devotion, I grant you a boon. From this day onward, every devotee who comes to worship Me at Vaishno Devi shall also visit your shrine. Only after receiving your darshan will their pilgrimage be considered complete.”
Thus, even after his death, Bhairon received the Divine Mother's blessing, and to this day, pilgrims visiting Maa Vaishno Devi also visit Bhairon Temple as the final step of their sacred journey.
This story reveals the true power of chanting the Divine Name. Even Bhairon, despite his sins and demonic nature, developed a deep spiritual connection through sincere mantra chanting. His devotion invoked the grace of Maa Bhagwati, and although he could not escape the consequences of his karma, he was blessed with a divine boon that continues to be honored by devotees to this day.
