OM Meditation — Guided Teachings by Sant Trilochan Darshan Das Ji
OM Meditation is one of the most ancient and sacred spiritual practices of Sanatan Dharma, preserved and shared by enlightened saints through generations. Guided by the teachings of Guru Maharaj Sant Trilochan Darshan Das Ji, this meditation focuses on the vibration of the primordial sound OM (AUM) — the cosmic sound believed to connect the individual soul with universal divine energy.
The practice is simple, yet deeply transformative when performed with sincerity and regularity.
Spiritual & Mental Benefits of OM Meditation
Regular chanting of the OM mantra creates harmony between body, mind, and consciousness.
- Helps calm restless and disturbed thoughts
- Supports balance in brain activity and emotional stability
- Reduces inner negativity and mental stress
- Enhances positive energy absorption
- Improves concentration and inner awareness
- Creates deep inner peace and spiritual grounding
Practicing OM chanting daily for 15 minutes can gradually shift the mind from disturbance toward balance and clarity.
The Meaning of OM (A-U-M)
The OM mantra consists of three sacred vibrations:
A (अ) – Originating from the navel (Nabhi), representing creation
U (ऊ) – Rising through the chest and throat, representing preservation
M (म्) – Resonating in the head and nasal vibration, representing dissolution and inner silence
Together, A-U-M symbolizes the complete cycle of existence and unity with divine consciousness.
How to Chant OM Mantra (Step-by-Step)
- Sit comfortably with your spine straight but relaxed.
- Keep shoulders loose, face calm, and eyes gently closed.
- Take a deep inhalation.
- Chant slowly with full energy in voice and vibrational voice:
Aaaa → Uuuu → Mmmmm
- Maintain equal strength and length in all three sounds, especially the “MMM” vibration.
- Feel the sound travel from the navel → throat → nasal passage.
- Allow the vibration to naturally settle into silence before the next breath.
Meditation Posture & Focus
- Sit cross-legged or in any comfortable seated position.
- Do not tighten the body — meditation should be relaxed, not forced.
- Relax the forehead, jaw, and eyes completely.
- Focus gently on the space between the eyebrows (Agya Chakra).
- Avoid imagining forms; instead, concentrate on the sound or symbol of OM if the mind feels scattered.
OM and O-An-Kar — Union with Universal Energy
The vibration of OM, also described as O-An-Kar, is believed to link the individual soul with the universal divine force. Through consistent chanting, the practitioner gradually experiences inner stillness, clarity, and spiritual connection.
Practice Guidance
Consistency is more important than intensity. Even if deep meditation is not felt initially, simply sitting and chanting daily begins the inner journey.
Begin with effort — experience will follow naturally.
